Katana
Katana Swords are Samurai Swords which are extremely dangerous yet beautiful swords to look at. The Katana was the Sword preferred by most Samurai followed by the Wakizashi then the Tanto, which was the shortest of the three Samurai Swords.
A Katana was usually razor sharp and able to cut a man in two with the right blow. Katana swords are very popular even today amongst enthusiasts as well as sword collectors.
Even though the Katana swords were made to the highest standards, they did sometimes break during battle, which some report is the reason that the Samurai carried multiple swords and weapons, that and the fact that an adversary can sometimes disarm you during a sword fight in which case it is nice to have a spare weapon. As for the Tanto it is a lot shorter than either the Katana or Wakizashi and was ideal for fighting in tight spaces where the Katana or Wakizashi were too long to be very effective in fierce combat.
